A culture of consent

Keep reflection and personal sharing genuinely invitational.

Explore the concept

The freedom to pass protects participation from becoming performance. People may need different distances from a prompt, a poem, or a personal story. Offer writing, silence, or conversation without rewarding the most exposed response. Consent also shapes whether a story is repeated beyond the original group.

A practice to try

State the option to pass, offer private reflection, and honor the first person who chooses either.
